
An estimated 1.3 billion people around the world are at risk of LF infection, and more than 120 million are infected. Countries where LF is found are mostly in the tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world. They also are among the world’s poorest countries, as LF is closely linked to poor sanitation and poor housing quality.
Regional Programme Review Groups
The Regional Programme Review Groups (RPRGs) were created in 2001 to support country programmes at a regional, rather than global, level. RPRGs review national plans, applications for drug donations, provide technical guidance and identify operational research issues.
