The goal of the National Programme to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis (NPELF) is to eliminate LF by 2015.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is the Secretariat of the Global Programme to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis and provides technical and financial support. Detailed information (endemicity, MDA, monitoring and evaluation) on this and other NPELF can be found on www.who.int/lymphatic_filariais.

Disability prevention programme
Disability management was piloted in one sub-country in the Amuria and Katakwi districts with funding from DANID. This has now ended but the demand for hydrocelectomy and lymphoedema management is very high. The work will continue on receipt of €30,000 from an anonymous donor.

Budget line
There is a small budget at the National Level. Some districts have budget lines for LF.
