Health and Development International (HDI), Norway

HDI´s mission is to advance world public health, with particular emphasis on under-served populations which more than others are significantly restricted with regard to achieving sound health and economic development.

HDI aims to free populations of debilitating diseases, which are deemed to be eradicable, or eliminatable as public health problems, but insufficiently addressed at the time HDI becomes engaged.

Concerning lymphatic filariasis HDI overall goal is to contribute importantly toward getting the global LF Elimination Programme successfully under way, and toward the effective, efficient elimination of LF and its consequences. At the global and regional levels, HDI stimulates and helps organize key meetings, to help assure proper coordination of efforts among countries, regions of the world, and partners, including national programs, international organizations, corporations and non-governmental agencies.
