Michigan State University is
committed to intellectual leadership and to excellence in both developing
new knowledge and conveying that knowledge to its students and to the
public. Michigan State University strives to discover practical uses for
theoretical knowledge, and to speed the diffusion of information to residents
of the state, the nation, and the world. Since 1999, MSU has helped the
GA determine where LF is most prevalent and devise ways in which to help
afflicted countries eliminate it. Most of MSU’s work is now focused
in Tanzania and Sudan through the Filarial Diseases Support Unit, which
focus on research and control efforts in these countries.
