Maged El-Setouhy

Maged is a Professor in the Department of Community, Environmental and Occupational Medicine, Ain Shams University, Cairo and is Chair of the EMRO Regional Programme Review Group responsible for planning and implementation and evaluation of the national programmes for LF elimination in Egypt, Yemen, Sudan and KSA.

He is a WHO Consultant for the Global Programme for Elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of the eliminate programmes for LF globally

From 2000 Maged is a member of the High Steering Committee for the National
Programme for Elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis in the Egyptian Ministry
of Health and Population supervising and evaluating the National Program for the Elimination of LF in Egypt.

Maged has published a number of papers in high impact journals, many with a particular focus on lymphatic filariasis.

Maged joins the Executive Group as Chair of the Representative Contact Group, a position to which he was elected at the 6th meeting of GAELF in Seoul in 2010.
